The TRASH Times and Other Stuff Monday, November 27, 2006: With a report on the Upper Midwest Region, here's Brian Weikle...18 teams competed in the Upper Midwest TRASH Regionals at Minnesota on Nov 12th. In the finals, Rev. Ted Haggard's Methamphetamine Gay Sex Romp (Iowa and/or Iowa alums) defeated Tia and the TRASHmen (Minnesota alums) 325-270. Both teams won their respective round-bracket with a perfect record of 8-0. In the semi-finals, Rev. Haggard defeated The Nancy Boys (academically un-affiliated past Jeopardy! champions) 295-195, while T&theT defeated The Octagon (Carleton College) 380-70. All-Stars were Rev. Ted Haggard (Matt Larson) from the champions (60 ppg), yours truly from the runners-up (49 ppg), the Rev. Robert Tilton (Nicholas Leifker) from Everything I Know About Sex I Learned at Jesus Camp (45 ppg), and Patrick Hope from The Octagon at 41 ppg. Thanks to our full-time moderators Meredith Johnson, Rita Otto, Andrew Bockover, and the legendary Dave Dorman. Thanks also to Gail Celio for providing some extra TRASHy prizes (Shaq valentines?!?!?). Extra special double thanks to stats queen, packet production coordinator and person in charge of keeping me sane Melinda Johnson. Finally, of course, a big thank you to all participating teams.
