The TRASH Times and Other Stuff

Tuesday, April 19, 2005:

The Bill O'Reilly Shower Massage (Brian Hight, David Murphy, Mark Richey, Jeremy White) are your 2005 TRASHionals champions!

O'Reilly went undefeated in the tournament, going 16-0. The team beat the Riders of Lohan (Tim Young, Phil Castagna, Rick Terpstra, Josh Levy) in an exciting championship match.

For their win, Team O'Reilly received the TRASHionals belt, martini glasses, TV-based board games and an automatic bid to TRASHionals 9 From Outer Space, to be held in the spring of 2006 at a site to be determined.

Also finishing in the Top 6 were...

3rd: WWJDFAKB? (Samer Ismail, Kenny Peskin, Ben Gross, Andrew Hutchings)
4th: Licensed to IL (Robert Flaxman, Alma Molino, Ryan Blay, Colby)
5th: ASU: Reporting 25 Lbs. Lighter (Jason Zuffranieri, Miguel Ruiz, Trevor Schultz, Nathan Crane)
6th: Cuts Like a Spork (John Kilby, Keith Hudson, Anthony Bush, Jason
Vannucci)

This year's Commissioner's Prize winner was Scott Latchem of The Player Haters, who received an autographed photo of David Naughton.

Top individual scorer was Mark Franklin of The Jimmy Stewart Experience.

Special thanks go out to:

Rebecca Golden for designing the programs and souvenirs for TRASHionals
(which you can check out and buy at cafepress.com -- just click "TRASHionals"!)

Mike Baker and Erin Korber of Pitt and CMU, respectively, as well as
the rest of the Pitt and CMU teams.

Dwight Kidder, for his logistical help in putting things together.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and PNC Park, for a memorable welcoming party!

The Pitt Hilton, for serving as the official hotel of TRASHionals!

The folks at TRASH, for putting up with me again.

And, of course, the players! If it weren't for them, there wouldn't be
a TRASH!

TRASH Regionals are tentatively scheduled for the weekend of November 11-13 (weekend after Election Day, as always) at sites across the U.S. and Canada. If you're interested in hosting a regional, e-mail me.
