The TRASH Times and Other Stuff

Saturday, January 22, 2005:

For the last few years, TRASH has maintained a policy of not filming TRASHionals.

However, after discussion with TRASH's legal advisor, TRASH has decided to modify the rule to allow the filming of TRASH Regionals, Junior Birds and TRASHionals events.

Please note that the new policy does contain several caveats.

The following conditions apply for filming:

1. _Written_ permission of the tournament site, the tournament director, and TRASH after presenting all parties with a proposal of what the filmer desires to film including the names and affiliations of all involved, including mail, e-mail, and phone of a contact person.

1a. The tournament site and/or tournament director have the right to revoke permission at any point should the filming become disruptive or fails to obey the rules and regulations of the site.

1b. No filming will be allowed to interrupt with the normal operation of the tournament or the site.

2. Notification six weeks in advance for TRASH Regionals (2 Months for TRASHionals)

3. A written agreement that TRASH has no legal liability in any ramifications stemming from the filming or from the products of the filming.

4. The filmer is solely liable for any damages resulting from taping.

5. The filmer will have appropriate release forms for those being filmed ready and available for TRASH to preview.

6. The filmer will respect the wishes of any staff, player, or audience member who does not wish to be filmed.

7. The filmer will preview filming and make available all relevant documents for TRASH before any wide release to ensure that the conditions were met.

8. Should the filming go toward a commercial release, the filmer will provide TRASH with copious copies of the film and any other paraphernalia.

Any questions regarding this, please contact yours truly.

B. ALCOHOL

TRASH has had an unofficial policy on alcohol for several years. However, given the unusually high number of questions we get on this topic, TRASH has decided to make this policy official.

There shall be NO CONSUMPTION of alcoholic beverages on the tournament site during TRASH Regionals, Junior Birds or TRASHionals. If a player of legal age wants to drink beer or wine during lunch at an off-campus establishment, that is fine. But drinking on the tournament site is not allowed.

Any player caught drinking alcohol on the tournament site during TRASH tournaments will face punishment from the tournament director. The TD will decide the appropriate punishment.
